Breed | Sex | Weight | Age | Color |

Mixed Breed (Medium) | Female | 64lbs | 51 weeks | Brown/White |
ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: Kera weighs about 50 pounds.
ESTIMATED AGE: 4 years, 3 months
KNOWN WITH DOGS: Kera is fine meeting other dogs on leash or in yards with space but in a more confined space she prefers to be an only dog.
KNOWN WITH CATS: Kera has met one cat since being in her foster home. Kera was persistent in wanting to get closer to the cat than the cat was willing to tolerate, but the cat stood her ground and Kera respected that. Kera would chase any cat that ran from her.
KNOWN WITH KIDS: Kera has met a few children on her walks and is happy to let them pet her. She would do fine in a home with them although she is still learning not to jump on people or put her paws on them and may need correction/redirection with young children.
KNOWN COMMANDS: She knows sit and stay and is learning ‘leave it’.
KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: Kera is housebroken and has an amazing bladder. She generally isn’t a fan of the crate although she has elected to go into it a couple of times while keeping an eye on goings-on in the kitchen. She does stay quietly in it. She is given run of the house and has not chewed on anything other than her toys. She has never had an accident in the house.
KNOWN LIKES: Kera loves her walks and her special toy (a stuffed horse that she is slowly disassembling). She loves mealtimes and treats but is good about not asking for human food. She enjoys meeting other dogs and is fascinated by squirrels and foxes. She’s very intelligent and appears to enjoy learning new commands, especially when she’s rewarded with kibble treats.
KNOWN DISLIKES: She doesn’t like to be left at home alone, but she settles down nicely and behaves herself.
ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Kera loves her walks and runs to find her stuffed horse after returning from each one. Once inside, she’s mostly quite calm although she loves an occasional toss and fetch game. She loves all the intriguing scents she picks up while walking and enjoys meeting most other dogs. She jumped a 3’ fence to accompany her foster who was shoveling snow, but she’s made no attempt to jump a 4’ fence, even when she was keenly interested in a squirrel on the other side. She would be very content being an only dog. She’s quite interested in squirrels and foxes but can generally be distracted by kibble treats. Kera is highly intelligent and food motivated so additional training should be relatively easy. She’s very affectionate and allows her humans to take her toys from her, but she did object when a visiting dog picked up one of her stuffed animals. She likes to be near her people but is okay when left alone for a few hours at a time. She rides quietly in the car. She has been very calm in her foster’s busy neighborhood.
