Meet Athena, a sweet senior girl at almost 7 years old.
Abandoned with her 10 pups in Puerto Rico in the middle of a violent rain storm, she was rescued by a good Samaritan who took them inside to safety. Traveling up to Virginia in 2019, she found a wonderful home with a family that loved her very much. Four years later, her family had a small human of their own, and Athena did not do well adjusting as they became mobile.
Athena is physically healthy, though a pesky floating kneecap can sometime bother her if she's been running around a LOT. She may also have some allergies that affect her skin.

We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters.
