ABOUT THIS ANIMAL:

Meet Montana, a resilient and loving dog with an incredible story of survival. Found as a stray, Montana ended up in a shelter where her ear injury went unnoticed until a compassionate volunteer saw that it was infected. Despite her obvious pain, she endured the discomfort with grace. Unfortunately, the shelter attempted surgery, which was botched, leaving her in even more need of help.

Thankfully, a South Carolina rescue stepped in, repaired the damage, and gave Montana the second chance she so desperately needed. From there, she made her way to Homeward Trail’s rescue, where she’s been thriving in her foster home. Montana is heartworm positive, but she’s undergoing treatment and responding well.

This housetrained sweetheart is friendly, shy at first, but warms up quickly to reveal her cuddly, affectionate side. After all she’s been through, Montana is ready to leave her past behind and start a new chapter with a family who will love and cherish her forever. Could that be you?
